About us

Africa Climate Communication for Actions (ACCA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening climate communication across Tanzania and Africa. We believe that effective communication is the foundation of meaningful climate action. Through storytelling, research, and advocacy, we translate complex climate science into simple, actionable messages that empower communities, media, and policymakers to make informed decisions. Our work focuses on raising awareness, promoting sustainable solutions, and inspiring collective action to protect nature, build resilience, and secure a sustainable future for Africa and beyond.

Climate Journalists Network Training

This training brings together 30 selected climate journalists from across the country for a full-day professional capacity-building session on World Climate Day. The event aims to strengthen media skills in climate reporting, fact-checking, and solutions-oriented storytelling. Participants will receive expert guidance, hands-on practical sessions, and tools to improve the accuracy and impact of climate communication in Tanzania.

Climate Story of Change Award

The Climate Story of Change Award celebrates journalists, storytellers, and creators who are using powerful narratives to inspire climate action in their communities. Held annually on the International Day Against Climate Change, the award recognizes outstanding stories that highlight resilience, innovation, and meaningful community-driven climate solutions. This event aims to motivate the media sector to elevate climate reporting and champion real stories of transformation.

Climate Communication Advocacy Days

This month-long advocacy initiative focuses on strengthening climate communication systems in Tanzania. ACCA will visit key institutions including communication education institutions, the Parliament, the Tanganyika Law Society (TLS), and government ministries. The objective is to promote the integration of climate communication into national priorities, enhance collaboration, and encourage policy support for effective, science-based climate information. The campaign will involve dialogues, presentations, and engagement sessions to advance climate communication as a national agenda.
